Rutilight, Disposable Intraoperative Fiber-Optic Surgical Illumination Device
Part No.: RL-01
Manufacturer: Swan Medical
Country of Origin: Spain
The Rutilight (RL-01) is a sterile, single-use surgical illumination device designed for open surgery to deliver high-intensity, localized light directly within the surgical field. Engineered to overcome the line-of-sight limitations of standard overhead operating theatre lamps and surgical headlights, this low-profile device attaches directly to standard surgical instruments, bringing targeted illumination to within a few centimeters of the immediate working area. By penetrating narrow cavities and poorly lit anatomical corners without obstructing the surgeon's grip or requiring an extra hand, the Rutilight maximizes visibility and procedural precision, ultimately reducing operating time and minimizing intraoperative complications.
Features:
- Direct Surgical Field Targeted Illumination: Concentrates a localized light beam directly in front of the active surgical instrument. This allows clinicians to illuminate deep, narrow cavities and shadowed anatomical regions that traditional zenithal lights cannot effectively reach.
- Universal Tool Versatility and Attachment: Features an adaptable design that allows the Rutilight unit to fit securely onto any surgical instrument with a 5–8 mm diameter. It can be fixed to a wide variety of theatre instruments, including electric scalpels, aspirators, forceps, scissors, electric sealers, dissectors, and bipolar forceps.
- Multi-Instrument Sequential Use: Designed with the flexibility to be attached consecutively to several different instruments throughout the course of a single surgical procedure, or used simultaneously alongside multiple units.
- Chromatically Optimized Color Temperature: Engineered with an optimum color temperature calibrated specifically for high-fidelity chromatic reproduction. This enhances contrast, visual perception, and differentiation of delicate anatomical structures, including organs, blood vessels, and distinct tissue boundaries.
- Extended Operational Autonomy: Integrated with a low-power-consumption system that provides up to 5 hours of continuous, high-efficiency bright light, ensuring reliable performance across extended surgical interventions.
- Ultra-Lightweight Ergonomic Footprint: Constructed with a minimal weight profile to ensure that its attachment does not alter the physical balance, tactile feedback, or grip of the primary surgical instrument.
- Sterile Single-Use Delivery: Supplied as a sterile, disposable, single-use device. This ensures strict adherence to infection control protocols, eliminates cross-contamination risks, and removes reprocessing and sterilization requirements.
- Broad Surgical Application Value: Validated for high-precision diagnostic and therapeutic utility across a massive range of open procedures, including oncological resections (mastectomies, thyroidectomies), deep pelvic/vaginal procedures, complex abdominal surgeries (hepatectomies, pancreatectomies, gastrectomies), cardiothoracic interventions, spinal/orthopedic surgeries, and multi-organ transplants.
